Alamo Pharmacy Relief Services was started on April 3rd, 2005 to help relieve the pharmacist shortage in the Rio Grande Valley. Our humble beginnings started with one pharmacist and two hospitals. One year later we now have four full-time pharmacists, twenty part-time pharmacists, six hospitals, and over twenty retail pharmacies. We service clients from the tip of Brownsville to the outskirts of Rio Grande City and up north to San Antonio. We have made a pledge to only provide quality pharmacists and technicians to help alleviate shortages, vacations, and emergencies. We offer the lowest fees and lowest overhead expenses than any other pharmacy relief agencies. We try to locate local pharmacists to help local pharmacies to cut down on expenses. We offer pharmacy staffing services 24 hours a day 365 days out of the year at hospital, retail, consulting, and long term care pharmacies.
Our pharmacy staff has been very happy with our agency. We have hired pharmacists that want extra money and want someone else to find them the work. Pharmacists fill out paperwork when hired then our company takes care of billing, collecting, and payroll. Our pharmacists have been able to pick and choose where they want to work and for how long. We have hired some pharmacists that have been unhappy with other agencies that don’t take care of them. We have hired pharmacists that have problems collecting from pharmacies. We have hired many who are just tired of all the red tape it takes to work at different locations. We try to stay competitive with our pay scale. We are family owned and operated. We interview every single pharmacist. We do not hire pharmacist licenses; we hire excellent, caring pharmacists.
We also recruit pharmacists to fill permanent positions for our clients. We have already placed one director and one staff pharmacist at two different locations. Both of these pharmacists were able to work at different sites before deciding which facility was the better fit for them. They got the opportunity to preview different work sites. On the other hand, the pharmacies were also able to preview the pharmacists. The clients were able to see the pharmacists at work and they were able to decide if they were interested in offering them jobs. This method of “previewing” is an excellent way of finding a good work place and of finding an excellent employee.
Alamo Pharmacy Relief Services will continue to help pharmacies find pharmacists and technicians to help alleviate shortages, vacations, and emergencies. Please feel free to contact us.
